The people of Puerto Principe has been and is still proud of the theater. Every two years, the city of tinajones holds the Camaguey's National Theater Festival that gathers the cream of Cuba's drama companies.
This theater meeting witnesses the most diverse plays, which are staged by the contestant companies. Moreover, theory classes, workshops and masterly conferences are held during such an event.
The jury, presided by Cuban drama experts, awards the best play with the Grand Prize "Avellaneda".
